South River

South River is a small borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, situated on 2.9 square miles with a population as of the 2010 US Census of 16,008.

Situated just off exit 9 of the New Jersey Turnpike, South River residents have easy assess to both North and South Destinations.  New York City is about a 50 minute drive and the New Jersey shore can be reached in less then 30 minutes.

There are reasonably priced homes for sale with nice size lots in South River, local schools are good, and transportation options are convenient.

South River has an 'everybody knows everybody' feel. A bit of a melting pot, the population is a nice diverse mix.  People love it there and when their kids grow up and move out they want to come back to raise their families. The merchants in the quaint downtown shopping area have time to stop and talk and get to know their customers.

Despite its tiny size, South River has a large number of recreational facilities. There are four two-acre parks with a total of five baseball diamonds and three basketball courts. It also has a small park that surrounds Daily's Pond, a one-and-a-half acre drainage pond where some of the local children fish in summer and ice skate in winter.

The South River Public Schools serve students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
