East Brunswick
has long been a destination for people wanting to move to a location that is close enough to New York City but affordable enough to raise a family.  Because of East Brunswicks central location in the state of New Jersey folks have been moving here from the early 1950s.   As East Brunswicks population grew the residents always emphasized that quality in the education of their children should be the top priority of the township.  Because of this high standard of education, East Brunswick became known as the place to live in central New Jersey if you had a family and wanted the best public education available.

As the word spread about East Brunswicks Schools more people wanted to move into East Brunswick.  This fueled tremendous growth in the township.  Real Estate in East Brunswick started to boom in the 1960s.  New modest sized homes were being built to appeal to middle class home buyers, who were commuting to the northern urban areas of New York City. The size and amount of the new homes being built continued to grow as the value of real estate in East Brunswick grew faster than surrounding towns. Today homes for sale in East Brunswick tend to sell very quickly because of the high demand created by the School system.

Over the next 30 years many townhouse and condominium developments were constructed causing some growing pains for the township.  Streets and highways became more crowded and class room sizes grew. Today long time residents might yearn for the old days but most residents are very happy with the overall excellent quality of living that East Brunswick has to offer.

East Brunswick is conveniently located with easy and quick access to the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Route 18 & Route 1.  There are two major hospitals within 6 miles, Robert Wood Johnson & Saint Peters Medical Center both in New Brunswick.  Rutgers University is also about a 6 mile drive and Princeton University is about 20 miles away to the southwest.  In addition the New Jersey shore area is only a half hour drive away.  There you will find great beaches, entertainment, dining and much more.  Somewhat further but still close enough for a day trip are the casinos of Atlantic city.  If you do a lot of traveling Newark International Airport (now Liberty International) is about 25 miles and it is accessible by car, bus or train.

Considering all the advantages the area has to offer it is no wonder when it comes time to sell your home you should expect to do above average on appreciation and find a buyer in less time. On average home owners sell their homes every seven years so factor this into your buying decision.
